What an active learner is, and why we price on it

We charge for learners who opened a lesson this month, not for everyone you ever enrolled. Here is the reasoning and the math.

Customer academies grow in a strange way. You enroll every customer admin, but only a slice of them are learning in a given month. Pricing per enrolled seat punishes you for being generous with access.

The definition

An active learner is anyone who opened at least one lesson in the calendar month. Enrolled but idle learners cost nothing.

For a typical Team academy with 3,000 enrolled customers, that means 400 to 700 active learners a month, which fits inside the 1,000 on the plan.
